KoJo Addae-Mintah is founder and CEO of WhirlWind Technologies, LLC. A first generation immigrant from Ghana, KoJo was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Largo, MD. Armed with a passion for learning, extensive training in IT infrastructure, a driving entrepreneurial spirit, and a vision to change the way IT solutions are provided, and impact the lives of others, KoJo started his first technology company in 2009.
In 2010 Kojo was presented with the opportunity to lead an international team in designing data centers and a data capture infrastructure to support the Bangladesh and Kenya Population Census and operations. This award-winning project propelled WhirlWind into the limelight at the U.S. Census Bureau, which he has supported for more than 10 years, as well as with international partners by overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds to achieve success.

KoJo believes in acting on what is important both individually and corporately. He is a 3-year Board Member of the DC Chapter of Entrepreneur Organization (EO) and currently Co-Chair of Kojo works to foster entrepreneurship development within the country of Ghana. He mentors local DC high school students with developing idea pitches, business plans, and value propositions. His mentorship work includes volunteering at Ballou High School in Southeast Washington, D.C. as a part of the National Foundation for Teaching and Entrepreneurship’s (NFTE’s) youth Shark Tank initiative. In addition, he has been active with the Men to Mentoring Program in Prince George’s County and the DREAM Foundation. KoJo has completed executive education programs in entrepreneurship, strategy, finance, and operations at Harvard, MIT, Wharton, and London Business School. the Chapter’s Accelerator Program, which empowers early stage entrepreneurs with the tools, community, and accountability to aggressively grow their businesses to one million dollars in revenue within 2-3 years. Kojo works to foster entrepreneurship development within the country of Ghana. He mentors local DC high school students with developing idea pitches, business plans, and value propositons.
